This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below. It was shipped on December 3rd, 1944 to New Braunfels, Texas. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It was built between May and November, 1948. The Old Town canoe with serial number 151116 is a 16 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Yankee model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, and a keel. ![]()
